Description
In Land Rover vehicles, the thermostat is engineered to handle the extreme thermal stresses associated with towing, steep climbs, and low-range wading. Many modern Land Rover engines utilize a “housing-integrated” thermostat that is calibrated to stay closed during the initial warm-up phase to improve fuel atomization and heater performance. Once the target temperature is reached, the valve opens to allow full circulation through the cooling system, preventing the overheating that can lead to costly head gasket issues.
