Description

In BMW’s F and G series, the RR door lock is a digital component that communicates with the vehicle’s Body Domain Controller (BDC). It features a “Double Lock” function, which mechanically disconnects the interior handle linkage when the vehicle is alarmed to prevent unauthorized entry even if a window is broken. The unit also houses the Child Safety Lock toggle, which can be engaged to prevent the door from being opened from the inside. Premium BMW models often include Soft-Close Automatic (SCA) within this assembly, utilizing a secondary motor to pull the door into a full seal without the need for slamming.
