It features a heavy-duty internal motor that handles central locking and deadlocking, along with a mechanical Child Safety Lock toggle that prevents the door from being opened via the interior handle. In premium Mercedes-Benz models, this assembly may also house the Soft-Close (power closing) motor, which uses a pressurized suction mechanism to pull the door shut once it reaches the first latch stage.
